When traveling to western Europe I'd always suggest a visit to Mont St Michel near Normandy, France. We went up for a day trip - just four hours to tour the little island wasn't enough. It was overwhelmingly beautiful-and windy. But it's been pretty much decided, I want to live there. And all the stairs are totally worth it. Also the island was the inspiration behind the village in Tangled as well as Prince Eric's castle in The Little Mermaid. 

Once back in Paris we went to Pont Neuf and got there just in time for the sunset. It was a beautiful day all around and I wore my boots down to the ground - it was totally worth it. I had a hard time deciding what pictures my last blog post concerning my Europe adventure should be of and in the end these won. Probably because despite all the places I visited and all the things I saw nothing could beat Mont St Michel. 

Notre Dame

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is perhaps my favorite soundtrack of Disney, it made a trip to the cathedral necessary-twice. The first time was in the rain and was just a long look inside, the second time I forced my sister to climb all the stairs with me and go to the top-it was totally worth it. Just look at that last picture! The next time I visit Paris I'm totally doing that climb again.

We got to Paris, checked in our hostel, ate, and then visited (climbed) the Eiffel Tower. My sister got the most perfect picture of me in front of the tower. We decided to climb the stairs rather than take the elevator-less of a wait-such a good story, though we were huffing only half way through. But it was worth it!

Reims and Cardiff

Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff, Wales

Our next stop was France, but not before I got to go to Cardiff and visit the Doctor Who Experience! Cardiff was breathtaking and all the Doctor Who moments were a serious plus. I got to go with a fellow Whovian, which always makes the experience even more enticing. But Cardiff was just a day trip and after the UK, we hustled over to France. 

While we stayed in Paris we took a few day trips elsewhere and one was to the historical city of Reims-also well known for their champagne.
