Blue Toile and Falling Off of Docks

Outfit Details: Jacket (TJmaxx) Vest (thrifted) Porcelain Style Dress (also pictured here & here) & Necklace & From the Same Cloth Boots (ModCloth)

So that last photo? That was me realizing the wooden pole I was leaning against was not secure and I almost fell in.

I'm learning to be a little braver with my photo taking. I used to go to places no one would bother and stop if someone happened walked by. Not so much anymore, maybe Prague broke me of that. I even had a nice conversation with a stranger who kindly asked what I was doing and why I was doing it. I guess it's about time I started embracing this, I have only been doing it for seven years.

I'm pretty excited about this holiday season, I'm normally a bit of a grinch, but not this year. I'm looking forward to the whole season and especially going home and seeing all my family. I hope everyone has a happy holiday and feels a little bit merry!

That Notting Hill Dress

Outfit Details: Jacket & Necklace & Tardis Ring (gift) Dress (Portobello Market in London) Vest (thrifted) Harry Potter Crossbody Wallet (Hot topic)From the Same Cloth Boots (Modcloth) Tights (TJmaxx)

Years ago, I was walking the Portobello Market in Notting Hill, my sister and I were sharing a bag of the sweetest, little strawberries, and I made up my mind. I was going to find something to take home from that iconic part of London. This dress was exactly that. I splurge a whole €10 on it. No regrets. That London blog post here. The first time this dress appeared on my blog was for my first ever Maine post, which feels like a lifetime ago. Time is crazy.

Winter and fall make my Europe itch all the worse. It's an itch I always have, but some days it makes me fall down a rabbit hole of Google searches to see just how affordable airplane tickets are.

P.S. also introducing my new short locks. I kind of like them, what do you think?

Camden Harbor Sunrise

Outfit Details: Jean Jacket & Shirt & Skirt (TJmaxx) Boots (White Mountain) Necklace (Modcloth)

When I decided to chop off much of my hair, I really wanted one more good set of photos to show off the long locks. So, I pulled myself out of bed before the sun was up one Saturday morning and these were the result. I don't even regret the hours of sleep I lost.

I'm loving my short hair. I'm probably saved a week of my life by not have to brush through the above madness anymore. But more on that next time.

It's Maine Again!

Outfit Details: Shirt & Watch (Kohl's) Skirt (JCPenney) Necklace (Modcloth) Blazer &Tights & Booties (TJmaxx)

If you follow my Instagram, it might have been long apparent that I moved back to Maine this past fall. Here's the actual outfit proof. These pieces have become a staple in my closet, from the plaid shirt down to the boots. But, I'll be honest, the skirt's my favorite, I love anything with A-line and in plaid.

This beach is another thing, not too long ago it used to be within walking distance of me. After work, I'd grab a book and walk down the road to this little sandy patch. It was one of the first places I visited when I found my way back to Maine.

The Last Bits of Prague

Outfit Details:
Coat: Pull&Bear
Scarf: Stradivarius
Sweater: NewYorker
Jeans: Kohl's
Boots: TJmaxx
Luxe and Wanderlust Necklace: Modcloth
Earrings: (these are from forever ago, and I've forgotten)

So while I left behind Prague almost five months ago, I can't believe it's been that long, I still have this one last set of photos from there to share. The entire time I was in Prague, I dreamed of seeing the city covered with snow. Its medieval beauty, I was certain, would look purely magical with a pretty white layer atop it. These photos are the closest I got. The snow melted in about an hour and turned into mud puddles, but at least I got my walk in the snow.

Also this was one of my favorite spots during my stay. I moved around quite a bit, but managed to live near the river for half of my time there. I would often take long walks from the riverside right into the heart of Prague. How I miss it! And also recommend that if you ever find yourself in Prague, you wander the streets with no real destination in mind.

That's Prague in the Distance

 Outfit Details:
Jacket & Scarf: TJmaxx
Dress: Forever21 (prague)
Boots: DSW
Tights & Socks: Target
Luxe and Wanderlust Necklace: Modcloth

It's been a long time coming, but here it is at last: my first Prague outfit post!

With a new address and an enticing new city, I've been more focused on exploring than fashion. The day I took these photos it was a little chilly out and the perfect chance to bring out my new dress. I forgot how much I love dressing up. Not even dressing up, but maybe dressing with intention. My style has always been a big part of my identity and when I'm busy I tend to tone it down for more casual pieces. Those days I always feel a little less me.

As they say in Prague ,,Mĕj se hezky!" (Have a good day!)

Picnic Dress by the Lake

Outfit Details:
Pretty - Pretty Picnic Dress & Luxe and Wanderlust Necklace & Best of Times Heel: Modcloth

Lakeside is one of my favorite places. Often I've documented my favorite outfit there (like this one and this one). This dress is still awaiting the perfect occasion to show it off, which, like the title, I imagine to be a picnic.

Blue in the Cemetery

 Outfit Details:
Vest & Tights: TJmaxx
Dress: Kohl's
From the Same Cloth Boots: Modcloth
Necklace: Lace Affair

This is still one of my favorite places. Being back in my home town for a couple of months this summer meant I got to walk down memory lane. This spot was a frequent participant in some shenanigans with my best friend (meaning we took many walks here and told each other scary stories).

Actually, October is when it's most beautiful. The trees there are the most vibrant. Til next year, little cemetery.

Little Town Murals

 Outfit Details:
Cardigan: Target
Shirt & Jeans: Kohl's
Boots: TJmaxx
Necklace: Modcloth

This mural popped up in my hometown, a few years back. There was a big to do about it. They talked about banning murals altogether, small town and all that. But the controversy calmed and the mural still stands. I like it. I like the color (literal and otherwise) that it brings to the place where I grew up. Also, of course, it's a great background for outfit photos.

Those Copper Beachs

Outfit Details:
Jacket & Boots & Necklace: Gifts
Shirt & Tights: TJmaxx
Afternoon at the Oasis Dress: Modcloth

One of my favorite things about Maine beaches are the rocks. There is something wildly alluring about them and not just in Maine. Rocks along any shore are thrilling to me. I am somewhat of a nature girl, because the moment I'm in it I get all dewy-eyed and breathless. That's one great thing about Prague, so far, despite being a city terrain there are nature and parks abound.

My Backyard

Outfit Details:
Cardigan: Target
   Shirt: Kohl's
Jeans: TJmaxx
Boots: DSW
Pirates of the Carribean Necklace: Claire's
Earrings: Modcloth

As the title so explains, this is (was) my backyard. The hammock was the best, however I've left the yard and hammock in Maine.

Right now, I'm getting situated to Prague, which means I'm trying finding the best cafe and the cheapest bookstore around. A little cold has slowed down my pace, but nothing can really keep an explorer down for too long.

Until next time,

B(l)ack on the Beach

 Outfit Details:
Jacket & Dress & Tights: TJmaxx
Boots: DSW
Necklace: Modcloth

I don't know why I love that last photo so much. Maybe because it reflects most of the faces I make on camera. The ones you end up seeing are the rare moments where my hand isn't hovering in mid air and my eyes aren't crossed.
