Black Lace and Faux Bobs

Outfit Details:
Shirt: Ebay
Jeans: Kohl's
Shoes: TJ Maxx
Necklace: Vintage
Purse: H&M in Belgium

I love having long hair, something about it is just kind of fun. But some days I tire of it and get that urge to chop it all off. Lucky for me, I'm pretty good at resisting it, so, instead, I've learned to fake a bob. Curly hair is often the best for this little trick, but for a straight hair demonstration check out this blog post. I use this tutorial to make this hairstyle, making a few adjustments to make it look a little more natural. I have one more outfit post coming up with this faux bob style, which is the best one in my opinion.

This outfit is a little out of my normal dress code, mainly because there's jeans in the deal. I've always had a soft spot for the edgier look, the black lace and the combat boots just seal the deal. I wore it out for a night one the town: a movie and some coffee, plus a little side action of book shopping. How can anyone resist bookstores? Especially ones with coffee inside.

Meet Myka

Outfit Details:
Top: Kohl's
Lace Vest: Forever21
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Necklaces: Made by me
Purse: Gift
Ring: France
Shoes: TJ Maxx

Meet darling little Myka, named for Myke Bering from Warehouse 13, so far she shares the same feisty-ness that her name-sake has. It been fun, having a new kitten around. It's been some seven years since last time we had a young, little, fuzzy thing running wild.

This was a lazy day outfit, which while comfy, was also good in the heat. This little, lace vest I invested in over a year and a half ago, it's layering prospects are awesome-laying pieces are always a good investment. I'm glad that fall in just around the corner, summer fashion tends to leave something to be desired for me. I love layers and boots and scarves, all those fun things. Hopefully this will be my last summer outfit of the season, here is to all the warm colors that are coming out.

The Remains of a Ruin

Outfit Details:
Lace Vest: Forever21
Top/Dress & Boots: TJ Maxx
Skirt & Belt: Kohl's
Necklace: World Market
Ring: Belgium
Mood Ring: Travel Store

End of August through the first week of September is the time of fairs around here. This outfit was put together with this event in mind; the boots, which can be easily roughed up, were comfy for the trekking through the rows and rows of vendors, plus they didn't look out of place when I got mud on them and maybe some ketchup from my fries.

The fairs mark one of the best times of the year-stating the end of the summer and the beginning of, my personal favorite, autumn. My best friend and I have a tradition of always riding a ride called the zipper, which makes us a little lightheaded by the end. Also, I always make sure to grab some fries and a Hawaiian ice afterwards. You can't go wrong there. With the fairs over it feels like everything is slowing down, which gives me the chance to start putting more time into the blog and to catch up on all the TV I've missed. Hope everyone has a good Tuesday!

Work Attire

Outfit Details:
Dress: Bodycentral
Ring: Forever21
Belt: Kohl's
Dragon necklace: Medieval Collectibles

This is something a little more work oriented than I normally wear, but it was for work, so that makes sense, right? I've owned this dress for a few years, having purchased it back during junior year of high school. More recently, to make it feel a little more professional, I took off the suspenders it had. It's always a nice surprise to find something that you've had forever that can be used today. It makes you feel good about never getting rid of those clothes, well almost.

My schedule's crazy for the next couple of weeks, so I probably won't be posting so regularly as I'd like, but when October returns I should be right back on track.

Have a good September! (In my town it's the month of fairs!)
