Red Among the Leaves

Jacket: Wetseal
Belt: Kohl's
Boots: Target
Purse: Forever21
Scarf: Claire's
Necklace: Lace Affair
Bracelet & Ring - gift

One rule that I like to break is that red heads should never wear anything red. Red, being one of my favorite colors, has always had a special place in my closet; and I've never been afraid to overdose on the color. (This outfit is a good example of that) As for this dress, while the red is embracing, it was the cut out front and back that caught my attention, it's always the details like that that I like to look for. In the end I knew this was going to be a love of mine.

The day these pictures were taken it was the last warm day of November, I didn't even really need my jacket. The leaves on the trees had reached their peak and finally they were starting to abandon their place in the sky and leave their colors on the ground. Some of them might have gotten caught in my hair, which was only troublesome is someone else noticed. It was such a beautiful day and it's sad to see these kinds of days gone until next year.

Merry Christmas!

In my family Christmas Eve is more exciting that Christmas by all accounts. For dinner we have Boeuf Bourguignon, which if you've ever seen Julie and Julia you might recall the trials with the french stew. I can't remember a time when we haven't had it for dinner. We also have delicious french bread, fruit soup, and salad. After dinner we have some extended family over for cookies and tea and exchange fun gifts. Right before we go to bed my parents would let us open one present, normally from our stockings. It sounds simple, but perhaps that is what is best about it. It isn't really about the food or the presents, but about the people-though I'm not trying to get all mushy on you.

On to these pictures, this dress has quickly become my new favorite. While pink has never been a favorite color of mine, I love the combination of the black lace with such a soft color. It was so cold that day that I wore two pairs of tights, which actually had a pretty cool effect, and I'll probably do the solid color under lace tights again soon.

Well, now that all the presents are wrapped, dinner is stewing, and it's finally snowing it seems like Christmas is finally here. I'll wish you Merry Christmas once more and I hope you have an awesome one.

Just a Few Leaves in the Hair

Outfit Details:
Jacket and tights: Target
Fringe shawl: Forever21
Dress: Forever21
Lace undershirt: Kohl's
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Black boots: from Belgium
Purple boots: Charlotte Russe
Necklace: made by me

When I put on this dress, which I've worn before, it just seemed a little too short so I stuck a skirt under it for just a little more length. My camera died so I didn't get a chance to get very good pictures. The ones with the purple boots were on a walk through my hometown's cemetery. It's really not that morbid. Fall looks prettiest there.

By now all the leaves have shed their branches. Fall is my favorite season, but no matter what season it is, I still adore it. Sometimes, though, from a distance.
