Shirt & Skirt: Walmart
Peter Pan Collar shirt: Lace Affair
Tights & Boots: Target
Necklace: gift
Puppy: Ollie & Kitten : Myka

I love my pets, that should be rather obvious to anyone who knows me. I don't think I'd ever survive without some by my side. Like humans I've always found it amazing how personalities differ with these creatures. Scared-y dogs and fearless cats.

Something that has grabbed me of late was the death of my puppy-Ollie who is feature greatly in this blog and in these pictures. It's strange on some level I feel as if I should apologize for being so sad over his death, he was just a dog. But that's ridiculous. I've lived beside him for eleven years, his been a constant companion, a friend. He's sat with me as I've read, he's gone on great adventures with me, and he's been there every morning when I got home from work.  He was as real as any person I've known; and even if you've only read a few of my posts you should be able to recognize how much I loved him. So I shouldn't feel like I need to apologize for being heartbroken over losing my yellow puppy.

I still have a couple outfits that I need to put up that has him parading beside me, it's a little strange, but then I'm so grateful that he was by my side so much that my camera caught many cute photos of him. That being said I've been having a hard time even editing them, which is one reason I've taken a little break from this outfit journal of mine. But now I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things. Also I think it's perfect to have a post about my puppy on Valentine's Day, last year he shared in my outfit as well.
P.S. Here's a few adorable pictures of Ollie.

My Sister's Dress

Well, for once I'm not stealing my sister's clothes. Meet my sister Kaitlin. My very talented mother made this lovely, vintage patterned dress for her. When the dress was finished I took my sister out for a spin about the yard and photographed her. These are those pictures. (That sounded very dramatic in my head.)
Outfit Details:
Dress: Made by my very talented mother
Bracelet: Vintage
Shoes: Wal-Mart
Puppy: Ollie

I might have gone a little crazy with the pictures, but I got so many good ones. It was strangely refreshing not to be in front of the camera and it was so much fun getting to boss my sister around, instructing her how to pose. I didn't really have to instruct her much on how to pose, she is a natural in front of the camera. Of course, I did tell her to climb the tree. Because when in heels and a dress one HAS to climb a tree. (Or at least try.) But her sticking out her tongue, that was all her.

Yellow Lace and Book Reading Weather

Outfit Details:
Plaid button up: Walmart
Lace yellow top & Ring: Forever21
Skirt: Thrifted (and shortened)
Necklace: World Market
Purse: Marc's
Tights & Shoes: Target

This was my first spring outfit of the season. It was such a beautiful day, I spent most of it outdoors: reading and climbing trees and playing with my puppies.

With spring (and summer) coming (well, spring is actually here, but whatever) it is the season of updos. If you are anything like me, than wearing the hair down is just a gigantic no. My hair is like a heated blanket in and of itself. Come May I plan on chopping off a few inches and that way getting rid of split ends and giving my hair a chance to regrow. That is the nice thing about when you wearing your hair up all the time, you don't really feel like you are giving up your long hair.

Welcome to spring everyone.

Dressing Casual for Spring

Outfit Details:
Jacket & Necklace: Forever21
Shirt: Kohl's
Skirt: Wal-Mart
Tights & Shoes: Target
Bracelet & Ring: Gift

This last picture tends to depict most of my attempt at poses, right as I trip over air.

This is one of my favorite outfits. Casual while still remaining forever me. Some days choosing what to wear is tricky. Maybe because you aren't feeling dressy or nothing seems to fit your whether physically or mentally. I tend to be more comfortable in skirts rather than pants, it's just something I've grown into.

I love photographing my outfits because later on it makes it easier to think of things to wear. While I'm forever trying to think up new ways to redress something, it's nice to remember those outfits that were your favorite, should you ever need an outfit in a jiffy. Fashion blogs are great, because it helps to see real people styling pieces like you never would have thought to. Our minds aren't wired the same and a fresh look helps to change things up and challenge our limits. This doesn't just go for style, but for everything. Life would be boring if everyone looked at things the same.

Hope you all have a good week!

Dressing like Gossip Girl

When I can't sleep I clean, actually it's more like organize. It does wonders for keeping a clean place, but not so much for my beauty sleep. One night at about two in the morning I took to organizing my closet. I pulled out about four pieces that I don't wear enough and made them into outfits. This top was one of them. I paired it with the plaid skirt in true Gossip Girl fashion. I've always had a thing for school uniforms, and secretly hoped I would have to wear one. So, even though I'm out of high school, I decided to create my own.

Outfit Details:
Jacket & Socks: Target
Shirt: Jennyfer in Belgium
Skirt: Wal-Mart
Snake Necklace: Gift - Belgium
Earrrings - Claire's
Shoes: Can't remember. (Kmart, maybe?)
Purse: Forever21
Puppy: Ollie

Though these photos look like they were taken in November, they were actually from a freaky warm spell in January. That phase as left and now we have about four - five inches of snow. Stay warm and enjoy this winter wonderland, that is, if there's snow where you are.

These Boots are Made for Kicking

Outfit Details:
Jacket: Hottopic
Leather Jacket: Wetseal
Shirts: Kohl's
Belt: thrifted
Skirt: Wal-mart
Tights & Shoes: Hottopic
Earrings: Rue21
Necklace & Bracelet: Deja Vu
Headband: Forever21

Perhaps these are the first pair of shoes I fell in love with. I call these my Abby boots-as in Abby from NCIS. They were my first splurge and probably the first thing that I really let become apart of my style-knowingly. I still have such a weakness for these shoes. They are scuffed up now and one part is bent in and uncomfortable. All the same, I still love them. Best pair of shoes you ever bought?

'Till next time . . .
