Magnolia Trees in the Spring

Outfit Details:
Top & Jeans & Booties : TJmaxx

If you've ever looked through my blog, you might have realized that my favorite picture place is in front of this magnolia tree during spring - when it's in full bloom. Nothing can stop me. Not even a cold. Which was exactly what I was fighting when this specific photo shoot took place. But I hid all evidence of the cold away with a little extra foundation, all so that I could have a moment frozen forever beside my favorite tree.

Here's to spring and its soon arrival. I'm counting down the days, are you?

Green Hair and Apple Blossoms

Outfit Details:
Shirt & Skirt & Tights: Kohl's
Necklace: Vintage
Boots: gift

I can't stay away from spring blossoms, and between the apples and magnolia trees, the blossoms are always gorgeous come April. Of course, these photos are a little dated, and currently outside my window it's snowing. But I supposed that just means a glimpse back at spring is all the more appreciated.

Fishnet undershirt: Hottopic

I might have mentioned before that I tend to dress in themes. I don't really pair clothes together rather than decide that I want to be punk or fairy-tale looking. The idea starts early in the morning and often dictates my eye makeup to my music choices. This was one of those days,

. . . Not Who I Was, Yet Not Who I Will Be

Outfit Details:
Soda Shop Sweetie Dress & Best of Times Heels: Modcloth
Earrings: Lace affair
Haircomb & Ring: Vintage
Necklace: gift

This dress was on my wishlist forever. It ran out of stock before I had a chance to snag it and when it came back I waited and waited. The best ones are always like that. I need I good petticoat yet for it and then it'll be complete and come this late spring I'll wear it out on a picnic or something equally perfect.

When the Magnolia Trees Bloom

Outfit Details:
Dress: Body Central
Necklace & Belt & Earrings: made by me
Shoes: Doctor Scholls fast flats

I love Magnolia trees. I have a soft spot in my heart for these. We have one, right alongside our driveway. Every April it's in bloom for a short week, it blooms before the apple trees and the pears. I love the smell when it catches in the air. Unfortunately the flowers don't stay for very long. If you pick them, they go limb rather quick. I knew that if I wanted pictures with the tree in bloom I'd have to be quick. Plus I'd have to face my fears of bees. So if in any of the pictures I look like I'm in fear, I probably am.

Yellow Lace and Book Reading Weather

Outfit Details:
Plaid button up: Walmart
Lace yellow top & Ring: Forever21
Skirt: Thrifted (and shortened)
Necklace: World Market
Purse: Marc's
Tights & Shoes: Target

This was my first spring outfit of the season. It was such a beautiful day, I spent most of it outdoors: reading and climbing trees and playing with my puppies.

With spring (and summer) coming (well, spring is actually here, but whatever) it is the season of updos. If you are anything like me, than wearing the hair down is just a gigantic no. My hair is like a heated blanket in and of itself. Come May I plan on chopping off a few inches and that way getting rid of split ends and giving my hair a chance to regrow. That is the nice thing about when you wearing your hair up all the time, you don't really feel like you are giving up your long hair.

Welcome to spring everyone.

Life of the City or the Country?

Outfit Details:
Coat: Kohl's
Dress: Charming Charlie
Scarf: Belgium
Tights & Shoes: Target
Purse: Charlotte Russe
Necklace: Vintage
Bracelet: Rue21
Earrings: Claire's
Puppy: Ollie

While I was born and bred a country girl, I love a good trip to the city. I love the walking and the sites to see, it's a strange mashing of pieces of different lives. However, I think, were I ever to decide to move to the city, I would miss the ability to jump outside and run in the fields. I also don't do the best in crowds, unless I have a strict purpose. But the occasional visit is amazing and heart pumping.

I love the bright notes in this outfit. I couldn't help but fall in love with this dress from Charming Charlie, even more so when it was still there when I came back a couple weeks later. The necklace, though it's not so easy to see in the pictures, is the exact same shade as the dress. Considering the necklace was my mother's before mine, it's pretty awesome combination. Also, though it might be a weird admittance, I like how this dress looks all wrinkled. It adds something to it, doesn't it?

The snow came back. Where I live there is always one big snow storm in March and then comes spring. I looking forward to spring clothes and muddy terrain and the flowers and the allergies. Hmm, spring. What are a few of your favorite things about spring?
