Blue Skirt and Romantic Lace

Outfit Detail:
Dress: Lace Affair (see dress again here and here)
Skirt: Forever21
Belt and Choker: homemade
Longer necklace: gift
Shoes: Doctor Scholl's Fast Flats

When I look at this outfit I kind of just want to sigh. I swear there is a magical fairy who sometimes graces us with the best outfit ideas ever. Once upon a time I thought Victorian fashion was awkward and I didn't care for it at all,  however over the years I've found myself falling head over heels with anything Victorian and with lace. When this dress first arrived I admit I was disappointed, but that disappointment left quickly when I discovered how to make it compliment my figure. This skirt was a last second grab. I didn't even try it on because there was only one. It needs taken in, but for now safety pins work just as well. I love the color, a mermaid color my sister called it. Which might explain exactly why I like it.
P.S. yes, I'm in a claw-foot bathtub.

On the Beach

 Outfit Details:
Jacket: Gift
Maxi Dress & Shoes: Kohl's
Necklace & Earrings: homemade
Bracelets: Forever21
Mood Ring: travel store
Vintage Air-force Ring

I love this dress. Don't you love it when that happens? When I found it in the store I didn't even plan on trying it on. But for some reason I went back to it and took it into the dressing rooms. What sold me was the low cut back, which I have a strong appreciation for (that might be putting it mildly).

The dress was perfect for a trip to the beach. It was cooler there than I thought it would be and while the material was light, it managed to keep me warm enough. I was told I looked like the girl from Titanic while wearing it. (Kate Winslet.) If you've seen an earlier post of mine you'll remember that I actually have a dress that my mom made-modeled from a dress from Titanic. Perhaps we should appreciate the irony of that comment. (Is that really irony? I can't decide.)

The necklace, I put that together the night before these photos were taken, I struggled to make it just as I saw it in my mind while watching an episode of M*A*S*H. Since then it fell behind one of my heavy book cases, so it might be a while until it returns. Actually I think I have one more outfit pictures to post with it and then it'll be gathering cobwebs. Hopefully I will manage to retrieve it sometime.

Last but not least, the tattoo. I don't have a real one and I hate needles, so it will be a while until I get a tattoo-if ever. But I have many fake tattoos that I can paste on my skin should I feel like it. Summer is the perfect time for them with the extra skin showing and all the up-dos.
P.S. aren't pictures at the beach the best? Sigh.

Sailor Outfit

Outfit Details:
Red Skater Skirt & flats: Kohl's
Purse: H&M
Necklace: Gift
Pin & Rings: Vintage

There comes a time in someone's life where they find that they have to own something nautical. That's kind of BS because I've always wanted to own nautical things. However, when I found this shirt from modcloth I knew it would go perfectly with my red skirt. When I went to wear this to my friend's graduation party my mom brought out the sailor pin that had been her father's, as he was in the navy. I'm pretty sure it's a sweetheart pin, after he bought it he gave it to my grandma. It's little pieces of history that are always the best accessories.

This outfit is going to be one of my favorites, as my brother pointed out I've already worn it a lot. Hopefully next time I'll get better pictures. I was in a mad rush, yet, in the end I had plenty of time.

Messy Hair

Outfit Details:
Shawl & Green Shirt: Forever21
Black Lace Tank & Shorts: Kohl's
Earrings & Necklace: Charming Charlie

A lazy day means not doing your hair. I did wear it up for a while, but before these picture were taken let it down, which might not have been my wisest decision. But I mean, it was a lazy day. So, I'm off the hook, right?

Hi-Low Dress at the Library

Outfit Details:
Dress & Shirt(modified by me): Body Central
Belt: Kohl's
Shoes: Target
Earrings: Forever21
Necklace: Gift
Purse: Charming Charlie
Puppy: Indigo

I love this dress, but it's tricky for me to style. (See it styled different here) I don't know where the idea stemmed from, to pair it with this shirt. But somehow, it came around. I safety pinned the skirt of the dress, shortening it and made the shirt a crop top by chopping some off. It was a little fancy for a trip to the library, but I got compliments on it, so that's the important thing, right?

My Sister's Dress

Well, for once I'm not stealing my sister's clothes. Meet my sister Kaitlin. My very talented mother made this lovely, vintage patterned dress for her. When the dress was finished I took my sister out for a spin about the yard and photographed her. These are those pictures. (That sounded very dramatic in my head.)
Outfit Details:
Dress: Made by my very talented mother
Bracelet: Vintage
Shoes: Wal-Mart
Puppy: Ollie

I might have gone a little crazy with the pictures, but I got so many good ones. It was strangely refreshing not to be in front of the camera and it was so much fun getting to boss my sister around, instructing her how to pose. I didn't really have to instruct her much on how to pose, she is a natural in front of the camera. Of course, I did tell her to climb the tree. Because when in heels and a dress one HAS to climb a tree. (Or at least try.) But her sticking out her tongue, that was all her.

Red Stripes

Outfit Details:
Lace Shirt: TJ Maxx
Black undershirt & Skirt & Shorts & Shoes: Kohl's
Bracelets & Necklace: Forever21
Purse: Charming Charlie
Ring: Belgium

I was very excited when I found this skirt, it was an awesome price and so cute. Besides, it's RED. Also I love skater skirts, the A line cut. Because it's a little short, I ended up wearing my red shorts underneath it, because, well, I always wear shorts under a skirt or dress. These red ones seemed to go perfectly with the skirt, so if the wind was a little strong (which it was) then I was protected.

I like this outfit because it's my kind of casual. So I could pretty much wear it anywhere.

I stole a picture with my puppy, who looks rather happy. At the time I'm pretty sure he was hot, he barely even stood up for me. Normally he's a social butterfly.
