Hello! M.I.S.H.A

 Outfit Details:
Coat: Pull and Bear
Dress & Scarf: Stradivarius
Boots: TJmaxx

Before flying home from Europe, I made a pit stop in Strasbourg. I returned to the building that I share my name with (correct spelling and all) and snapped photos like I always do. Here's to my last view of Europe, at least for a little while!

The Last Bits of Prague

Outfit Details:
Coat: Pull&Bear
Scarf: Stradivarius
Sweater: NewYorker
Jeans: Kohl's
Boots: TJmaxx
Luxe and Wanderlust Necklace: Modcloth
Earrings: (these are from forever ago, and I've forgotten)

So while I left behind Prague almost five months ago, I can't believe it's been that long, I still have this one last set of photos from there to share. The entire time I was in Prague, I dreamed of seeing the city covered with snow. Its medieval beauty, I was certain, would look purely magical with a pretty white layer atop it. These photos are the closest I got. The snow melted in about an hour and turned into mud puddles, but at least I got my walk in the snow.

Also this was one of my favorite spots during my stay. I moved around quite a bit, but managed to live near the river for half of my time there. I would often take long walks from the riverside right into the heart of Prague. How I miss it! And also recommend that if you ever find yourself in Prague, you wander the streets with no real destination in mind.

Vienna, oh Vienna

 Outfit Details:
Coat & Dress: Pull and Bear
Scarf & Tights & Belt: TJmaxx
Sweater: Kohl's
Boots: CCC
Necklace: Lace Affair

Vienna was one of cities I got the opportunity to visit during my months in Europe. The highlight of this trip, for me, was visiting the national library. Setting foot inside was a true Beauty and Beast moment and for this little bookworm, something to knock off my bucket list.

My last photo I'm wearing my "I'm uncomfortable, there are so many people around and I feel awkward taking my own photos" pose. Which is basically how I feel whenever I take pictures in the public. Maybe, pretty please, one day I will feel comfortable doing this.

On the city itself, it was a whirlwind experience.
I spent most of my time just wandering around. It was shorter than expected. Isn't it always? And I can't wait to go back.

Stone Streets in Wintertime

 Outfit Details:
Jacket: Gift
Shirt & Boots & Tights: TJmaxx
Purse: CCC
Scarf: Venice

I experienced a warmer winter in Prague than I've known before. Only once did any snow stick to the ground for more than a few hours. I loved walking through the stone streets, slowly taking in the buildings around me. I lived near here for a few weeks. Sometimes I'd take the long way home from the tram stop and walk this street. It was often quiet and abandoned, I imagine the warmer months are a different tale.

Visiting Quebec City

Outfit Details:
Top & Boots & Tights: TJmaxx
Schooltime Sparkle Skirt: Modcoth
Necklace: Lace Affair

I went to Quebec this past March, cross that adventure off my bucket list, and (tried) to brush up on my French. I stayed in a cute little hotel near the center of town (Auberge Place D'armes) and loved it. The city was still packed with snow and ice - and ever as beautiful. I inhaled espresso and poutine every meal time and found poutine flavored potato chips to take back home. Old Quebec definitely became one of my favorites places.

The photos are mostly from my phone, because while I remembered my camera, I forgot my tripod. It was a balancing act on top of clothes and books and tables to get the right angle- in the end they came out well. My camera is a little worse for wear nowadays and I might have to look into switching permanently to my phone for these types of pictures.

But, of course, the true point of the story is that if you ever get the chance to visit Quebec City, do it. Even if it's winter, cause it's just as gorgeous.

Bridges, Of Course

Outfit Details:
Coat & Shirt: Kohl's
Craft Party Dress: Modcloth
Boots: DSW
Necklace: Hottopic
Peter Pan Scarf: Amazon

Bridges make for great photo taking. I would always drive by this bridge on my way to the big city. And if we've learned nothing else, we know that I'm always on the look out for a great outfit backdrop.

The outfit itself, I'm rather proud of because all of these (say for the boots, but they don't count) have been in my closet for years. I love finding an old piece and a new way to wear it.

P.S. the scarf is also new. I completely forgot it was in the photos.

How Not to Stay Still

Outfit Details:
Coat: Kohl's
Science Fair Flair Dress & From the Same Cloth Boots: Modcloth
Tights: Target
Scarf: TJmaxx
Necklace: Lace Affair

My, oh my, how the days have changed us. These photos are from December if that says anything. I disappeared for a while, which was the blame of a crashed computer and real life changes. My computer is running again and my life is continuing to change. Neither am I against.

These photos are from a cold winter's eve when the sky enticed me to come out for a while. The dress became a staple in my collection, especially since my work changed from uniforms to business casual. The boots are my favorite booties, only in a different color. The original color choice can be seen here and here.

I'll try to keep you guys up to date on my life changes. Currently, I've made the transfer from Maine to Ohio, temporarily. Later I'll be getting in a plane and going to Europe for a while. I doubt that surprises anyone. I've said it before I'm not good at staying still.

One Last Flake of Snow

Outfit Details:
Cape: Kmart
Jacket & Sweater: Kohl's
Skirt: made by me
Tights & Boots & Gloves: Target

These are some old photos, from before Ollie died. Though he doesn't show up in any of the pictures, he was running around, chasing one of our kittens up a tree-I remember because I was laughing at said kitten. Now that May is here is seems kind of silly to be bringing out pictures of snow, but I might as well get them out before summer is completely upon us.

Outdoors & Excuses

Outfit Details:
Coat: Kohl's
Jacket: Hottopic
Shirt: Forever21
Scarf: Paris
Belt: Thrifted
Necklace: gift
Rings: Vintage
Puppy: Drogon

I've kind of been off-line for a while. No excuses, though at this moment a hundred are flying through my head. No promises either, because there might be times when I lose touch. If only because I haven't had time to dress up or the weather has been bad or I just haven't felt it (there's my excuses, you see.) But I still like taking pictures, I still like documenting my outfits with my dinky camera and so on. So here's some old pictures, if you couldn't tell from the snow-though I was told there was ice this morning.

Bridges

Outfit Details:
Coat & Belt: Kohl's
Confetti to Go Dress: Modcloth
Tights &  Sweater: Targert
Necklace: Forever21
Boots: ebay
Purse & Scarf: H&M in Belgium

I took an unscheduled break from this little blog of mine. But I'm back and hopefully I'll start posting a little more regularly. It's been a little difficult to wander out in the winter for pictures as the warmth of the indoors is almost too enticing. But on this day I managed to ventured out to one of my favorite parks and was still be able to feel my fingers in the end.

This post is kind of a bridge into 2014, so the title and the pictures seem a good match. I'll admit that because of work I haven't been taking as many outfit photos as before, but taking January off helped me realize that I still do love documenting the outfits I manage to put together. So I'm hoping that I'll get back into the swing of things soon, if not I still have some old pictures to post until I get back to my tripod and camera. It's a new year, so here's to that.

Winter Walks

Coat & Belt: Kohl's
New Kensington Embellished Blouse: Ruche
Skirt: TJ Maxx
Tights: Target
Art Deco Diva Earrings: Laceaffair
Jewelry: Homemade
Scarf: from Belgium

Snow is so strange. From afar it looks like peace and like a bit of magic, just out of reach but perfect in those first few hours as it falls from the skies. However, when you stand among it, it's cold and wet. Some days it sticks to everything and sounds like Styrofoam when you walk on it ech! It's like the step from behind the door to in front of it changes everything. That being said, some days it still can be lovely, whether watching it from a window or  standing right in the middle of it. One of my favorite holiday traditions is a walk about my small town, wistfully covered in snow. I haven't had a chance yet for this walk, but I think it's going to have to happen soon. A cup of hot chocolate in hand, gloves and mitts, and warm socks and it's time from a winter walk.
