Jungle Wear

Outfit Details:
Button up shirt: from my mum's closet
Blue shirt: Rue21
Skirt: made by me
Purse: H & M
Belt: Kohl's
Bracelet & Necklace: Deja Vu
Earrings: Hottopic
Rain boots: Target

When it comes to trambling through fields, it is best to have the right shoes. Rain boots are for muddy exploring shoes. I really like how this outfit seems to reflect a wooded adventure, hopefully somewhere with good cloud coverage and very few mosquitoes. I rather really like the earthy tones at play. In case you haven't noticed, I tend to migrate towards more statement colors. Here, I think the bright blue is the perfect addition to just give a little bit of a pop.

These pictures make me want to watch the Indiana Jones movies again. Not too grand of a leap, I think, perhaps I should find a hat to go with this ensemble. What do you think?

Cold Hands and Monkey Purse

Outfit Details:
Leather Jacket: gift
Dress: Spotted Moth
Skirt: Made by me
Belt: Kohl's
Scarf: Belgium- H & M, I think
Earrings & Bracelet: Forever21
Purse: Hottopic
Shoes & Tights: Target

I love this purse from Hottopic. It ventured to Rome with me and my sister so many years ago. The only reason I remember that is because I have a picture with my sister at the Mouth of Truth where I had the purse strapped on. It also traipsed around Belgium with me. It didn't lose any of my stuff, at least that I remember. It feels like it wasn't that long ago, but really it was years. I feel old, while still being young. I know most people feel that way. Believe me, I ask them.

The Hair Fair

When I was young, ten maybe? I had an English project where I was supposed to write a poem. I don't do poety by the way, no matter how much I love it. So my poem was about a hair fair. I wish I knew where that poem was now. I created it with help of one of my childhood friends and a lot of good memories came with that poem.

On the subject of hair, I desperately need it cut and dyed. Unfortunately I'm the one that cuts and dyes my own hair. I've actually never had my hair dyed professional and I haven't had someone else cut my hair in seven years. I've learned from my mistakes. Let's not talk about the almost mullet I once gave myself. I always say that I am going to have someone else cut my hair, just so that I know its even and shaped. Yet . . . I always realize why I cut my own hair, no one knows your hair like you. So, I imagine one day I'll just grab the scissors and start chopping - layers, not length.

 Outfit Details:
Coat: Kohls
Scarf: Belgium- H&M I think
Dress: Forever21
Belt over Coat: Kohl's
Belt: Charlotte Russe
Tights & Shoes & Gloves: Target
Necklace: Made by me
Longer Necklace: Lace Affair (pictured better here)

At the time that I took these pictures it was about 3 degrees out and there was about a foot of snow and even more was coming down. I only snapped about a handful of pictures before quickly running back to my car. The really stupid choice I made was taking off my gloves for any amount of time.

Today, the weather is balmy forty degrees. I should be out frolicking in it, or at least running, but I'm lazy today. What can I say?

Also I feel like I need to apologize for the repeats of these tights and shoes. But the shoes are one of the comfiest pairs I own. Plus, I've been on a red kick lately. I promise that I will try to introduce new tights, I can't promise any new shoes - at least not until it gets a little bit warmer.

Belgique; Où Mon Cœur Reste

Outfit Details:
Airforce jacket: vintage
Shirt: Forever21
Skirt: lace affair
Tights: target
Shoes: Charlotte Russe
Scarf: from Belgium
Earrings: gift
Rings: vintage
Purse: H & M

I should bring this up at least once. I was an exchange student in Belgium my senior year.  Best life experience ever. Because of that experience I now speak French and dream in French all the time. You might soon notice that my favorite pieces of clothing are from Belgium. The scarf was actually given to me by the people who were in charge of my exchange, every exchange student in the area received one. The purse, which while was from H & M was actually bought at a store in the city I lived in while in Belgium. I bought the largest purse I found so I could fit all my school papers inside.

I love shirts with a revealing back, it has recently become a favorite style. There is something about this outfit that is modern and vintage all at the same time. Perhaps that it why I love it so.

Do you love traveling? My heart belongs to traveling and similar adventures. One day I'm going back to Europe, nothing could stop me.
