Ruche and Cupcakes and Tea

Outfit Details:
Green Dress & Moonlight Sontana top: Ruche
Earrings & Bracelets: Forever21
Belt: Charlotte Russe
Tights: Target
Best of Times Heels: Modcloth

You might recall back to March where I posted a quick Easter greeting. I decided to give a more detailed post of that outfit. When it came to the dress I had been trying to find a way to change it's perspective for a while. Here is where you can see the dress as I've worn it before. I tried many tops over the dress and a few skirts, but nothing seemed to click. Finally I put the dress away for an evening and for some reason the next morning the outfit just came together. Don't you love it when that happens? It seemed perfect for Easter, a touch of brightness, while still have a certain professionalism to it. I'm not a big fan of peplum tops, mainly because I don't think they work for me, but this one I couldn't resist, probably because of the lace.

You might see a cupcake in my hand, it's me admitting that I have a serious sweet tooth and cakes are one of my biggest weaknesses. Wash it down with some tea, and you have yourself a great treat.

Yellow Lace and Book Reading Weather

Outfit Details:
Plaid button up: Walmart
Lace yellow top & Ring: Forever21
Skirt: Thrifted (and shortened)
Necklace: World Market
Purse: Marc's
Tights & Shoes: Target

This was my first spring outfit of the season. It was such a beautiful day, I spent most of it outdoors: reading and climbing trees and playing with my puppies.

With spring (and summer) coming (well, spring is actually here, but whatever) it is the season of updos. If you are anything like me, than wearing the hair down is just a gigantic no. My hair is like a heated blanket in and of itself. Come May I plan on chopping off a few inches and that way getting rid of split ends and giving my hair a chance to regrow. That is the nice thing about when you wearing your hair up all the time, you don't really feel like you are giving up your long hair.

Welcome to spring everyone.

Plaid and Corsets

Outfit Details:
Jacket: Forever21
Corset Shirt: Hottopic
Skirt: Kohl's
Necklace: Rue21
Purse: Charming Charlie
Tights & Shoes: Target

Red and plaid, a few of my favorite things. For these pictures I forgot to get pictures of my plaid earrings from Claire's that I've had for years. Plaid is something that has had a special place in my heart since my earliest teenage years. While I don't wear it as often now, I do still keep it around. Some style choices we just have to keep, just to remind us of who we used to be.

Modcloth Purple

Outfit Details:
Dress & Shoes: Modcloth
Tights & Jacket: Target
Belt: Kohl's
Earrings: Hottopic
Bracelet: gift (necklace used as bracelet)

This blog post represents my first ever Modcloth purchase. Like most fashion bloggers, it's hard not to have heard about the vintage inspired clothing empire. Often some of the cutest dresses I see online are from Modcloth. After receiving an invite from one of my friends to the site (with the invite the invited (person) gets fifteen dollars off a purchase of fifty dollars or more) I found myself falling in love.

The thing that I like best about Modcloth is their review system, which easily guides you in sizing and function. When ordering clothes online, it can be difficult finding the right size and knowing the true color. Their review system isn’t just words, but you can also post pictures of the attire.

This dress has already become a favorite in my closet as it's comfy and my kind of laid back. I've worn it so many times already as it's very versatile, whether it's just for a night on the town or out for a daytime coffee date. As for the shoes, oh the shoes, let's just say they are just as beloved and even more adorable.

A Blue Fairy Look

Outfit Details:
Lace Sweater: Hottopic
Top: Kohl's (forever ago)
Skirt: Belgium (originally a dress, but I hacked off the top)
Red Belt: Ebay
Tights & Shoes: Target
Necklace: Gift
Earrings: Forever21

For some reason this skirt makes me think of fairies. It probably has something to do with its uneven hem. The blue shirt just made it all the more fairy-ish. Also, I wish it came out better in the pictures, but I tried my hand at making a fiery eyeshadow blend. No matter how I tried though, it just didn't photograph as awesome as it was in real life that the problem with photos. Colors tend not to be as vibrant, all the same it was fun to try.

Oh, don't forget that tonight until tomorrow you might be able to see some meteorites in the sky. 'Til next time.

Owls in the Ears

Outfit Details:
Jacket: Gift
Cardigan: Jennyfer (Belgium)
Shirt & Knitted Cap: Forever21
Jeans: Kohl's
Shoes: Target
Earrings: Claire's
Necklace: Lace Affair

For some reason when the weather gets warmer I tend to dress a little more casual than normal. Also I start to long for my tights and boots. Luckily in these pictures it was still cold enough to wear my boots. Once I get through all my old pictures, I believe that those things will start to disappear. Which reminds me why I need to invest in shorts this year.

This is one of my favorite shirts, especially for warmer weather. I wore this outfit for an every day on the town. Some shopping, eating out, and some lounging at home. The knitted cap came in handy as my hair seemed to prefer to stick straight up most of the day, plus the wind was being a little bizarre. I love wearing earrings, but most of time mine are statement kinds, so these little owls are nice for just a day out.

Dressing Casual for Spring

Outfit Details:
Jacket & Necklace: Forever21
Shirt: Kohl's
Skirt: Wal-Mart
Tights & Shoes: Target
Bracelet & Ring: Gift

This last picture tends to depict most of my attempt at poses, right as I trip over air.

This is one of my favorite outfits. Casual while still remaining forever me. Some days choosing what to wear is tricky. Maybe because you aren't feeling dressy or nothing seems to fit your whether physically or mentally. I tend to be more comfortable in skirts rather than pants, it's just something I've grown into.

I love photographing my outfits because later on it makes it easier to think of things to wear. While I'm forever trying to think up new ways to redress something, it's nice to remember those outfits that were your favorite, should you ever need an outfit in a jiffy. Fashion blogs are great, because it helps to see real people styling pieces like you never would have thought to. Our minds aren't wired the same and a fresh look helps to change things up and challenge our limits. This doesn't just go for style, but for everything. Life would be boring if everyone looked at things the same.

Hope you all have a good week!
