November's Snows and Winter's Hotels

Outfit Details:
Jacket & Shirt & Tights & Earrings: Forever21
Belt & Cardigan: Kohl's
Necklace: Lace Affair
Boots: Ebay
Puppy: Ollie

These photos are quite old, taken back in mid-November. It was our first major snow. I love these pictures, especially because my darling Ollie is so adorable in them. The pictures indoor were at a hotel we stayed at for a night. All of those were taken with my phone, as I forgot to bring my camera with me. I was rather impressed with how that one in the chair turned out, especially because I was balancing it up with a book and pen. This might be one of my favorite outfits ever. Super comfy which I needed for that day and I'm a sucker for that galaxy skirt.

The pictures out in the snow were taken first thing in the morning, which explains the cool blue lighting. It was really too early for pictures, I think the sun had been up for twenty minutes-if that. But the hint of a pink sunrise in the background kind of make them magical.

A Little School Girlish

Outfit Details:
Pumpkin Soup Cardigan & From Gear to Ear earrings: Modcloth
Shirt & Skirt: Walmart
Peter Pan Collar shirt: Lace Affair
Tights & Boots: Target
Necklace: gift
Puppy: Ollie & Kitten : Myka

I love my pets, that should be rather obvious to anyone who knows me. I don't think I'd ever survive without some by my side. Like humans I've always found it amazing how personalities differ with these creatures. Scared-y dogs and fearless cats.

Something that has grabbed me of late was the death of my puppy-Ollie who is feature greatly in this blog and in these pictures. It's strange on some level I feel as if I should apologize for being so sad over his death, he was just a dog. But that's ridiculous. I've lived beside him for eleven years, his been a constant companion, a friend. He's sat with me as I've read, he's gone on great adventures with me, and he's been there every morning when I got home from work.  He was as real as any person I've known; and even if you've only read a few of my posts you should be able to recognize how much I loved him. So I shouldn't feel like I need to apologize for being heartbroken over losing my yellow puppy.

I still have a couple outfits that I need to put up that has him parading beside me, it's a little strange, but then I'm so grateful that he was by my side so much that my camera caught many cute photos of him. That being said I've been having a hard time even editing them, which is one reason I've taken a little break from this outfit journal of mine. But now I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things. Also I think it's perfect to have a post about my puppy on Valentine's Day, last year he shared in my outfit as well.
P.S. Here's a few adorable pictures of Ollie.

See Spot Run

Outfit Details:
Boots: TJmaxx
Skirt & Shirt: Kohl's
Tights: Target
Vest: Body Central
Necklace: gift

The best thing about coming home from work is this - not too little - little guy. He gets all hyped up when he sees me, runs around in circles and steps on my foot - it's how he shows affection. No matter how long a day seemed, he manages to brighten it up when I see him charging towards me, normally before I even get out of the car. Life would not be the same without these little creatures along our sides.

Our Girl Indigo

 Outfit Details:
Jacket & Skirt: TJ Maxx
Eyelet top & Belt: Charlotte Russe
Purse: Forever21
Tights & Shoes: Target
Vintage ring, mood ring, and black ring from Belgium
Puppies: Indigo & Ollie

We recently lost our eleven year old dog, Indigo, who I've photographed several times. It was rough, but she had been having some health problems so it wasn't a terrible shock. She was such a beauty and a happy dog. She had bad hips for the last couple of years, but she didn't let it tear her down. More recently we had noticed that she wasn't feeling well, she moved less and less and tended to be in the way of the car more and more. A few days before she passed we found out she was diabetic, which explained her lose of weight and fatigue. She went peacefully in her sleep, there isn't much more to ask for than that. This will be the last post with her as a special guest.

These were taken before we were aware of her sickness, and strangely, as the last pictures I was able to capture of her, they happen to be some of the cutest I have, especially the first one with both of the darlings.

Olive Green Shorts

Outfit Details:
Shirt: Gabriel Brothers
Shorts: Thirfted
Shoes: Kohl's
Purse: Marc's
Puppy: Ollie

I ran out to take these picture just before it began to rain. For once I'm actually wearing shorts, which doesn't happen every day. But these shorts are special. I've had them forever and they have just always stuck with me. The olive green, high waist, and durable material, what isn't to love? If only all more shorts were like these. I feel like I should apologize for my dirty dog, but he's a farm dog who loves to sleep under the porch. What can you do?

My Sister's Dress

Well, for once I'm not stealing my sister's clothes. Meet my sister Kaitlin. My very talented mother made this lovely, vintage patterned dress for her. When the dress was finished I took my sister out for a spin about the yard and photographed her. These are those pictures. (That sounded very dramatic in my head.)
Outfit Details:
Dress: Made by my very talented mother
Bracelet: Vintage
Shoes: Wal-Mart
Puppy: Ollie

I might have gone a little crazy with the pictures, but I got so many good ones. It was strangely refreshing not to be in front of the camera and it was so much fun getting to boss my sister around, instructing her how to pose. I didn't really have to instruct her much on how to pose, she is a natural in front of the camera. Of course, I did tell her to climb the tree. Because when in heels and a dress one HAS to climb a tree. (Or at least try.) But her sticking out her tongue, that was all her.

Red Stripes

Outfit Details:
Lace Shirt: TJ Maxx
Black undershirt & Skirt & Shorts & Shoes: Kohl's
Bracelets & Necklace: Forever21
Purse: Charming Charlie
Ring: Belgium

I was very excited when I found this skirt, it was an awesome price and so cute. Besides, it's RED. Also I love skater skirts, the A line cut. Because it's a little short, I ended up wearing my red shorts underneath it, because, well, I always wear shorts under a skirt or dress. These red ones seemed to go perfectly with the skirt, so if the wind was a little strong (which it was) then I was protected.

I like this outfit because it's my kind of casual. So I could pretty much wear it anywhere.

I stole a picture with my puppy, who looks rather happy. At the time I'm pretty sure he was hot, he barely even stood up for me. Normally he's a social butterfly.

A Few Green Things

Outfit Details:
Jacket & Earrings: Gift
Scarf: Gift (from Kenya)
Shirts & Tank Tops: Kohl's
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Tights & Shoes: Target
Necklace: Forever21
Purse: Charming Charlie
Puppies: Ollie and Indigo

While looking over these pictures again maybe the title of the post doesn't fit, yet I was wearing a lot of green. It just doesn't pop. It's overpowered with all the other effects. It's a busy outfit, but I like it. Somehow with all the busy-ness, it's still casual.

In all my pictures I take at home, I have animals jumping to be in them. Often I crop them out, but sometimes they are just too cute to be left out. I'm a sucker for animals. (While I'm typing this, I actually have a cute kitten curled up on my lap-pushing my laptop out of reach.)
