Overload of Lace

Outfit Details:
Top: Ebay
Skirt: made by me
Belt: Kohl's
Tights: Target
Shoes: TJ maxx
Necklace: Vintage

Some outfits just make us cringe in the end; the overload of lace might have been a bad choice at the time, but the really funny thing is that after reflecting over these pictures I can't even remember where I wore this to. Perhaps it was just some random trip somewhere? Wherever it was, I don't think I lost my street cred over it, but next time I'll stick to black tights. I do absolutely love this shirt though, it can be worn a little more edgy or even like in this outfit, as a soft addition. The first time I wore it out and about, I had a complete stranger come up to me and say how much she loved it. All in all, this outfit wasn't too bad, actually it's almost cute, it's just those dang tights with that shirt. Hmm oh well, not every outfit can be perfect, right?

Some Green Among the Trees

Outfit Details:
Green Jacket: TJ Maxx
Lace Shirt: Bodycentral
Skirt: made by me
Belt: Kohl's
Scarf: Target
Necklace: Vintage
 Shoes; Macy's
Purse: H&M

Shopping trip outfits are always the worst. You want something that's easy to change out of and something layer-able, especially since stores tend to range differently temperature wise. Another thing to take into account is having the right pieces for whatever you're going to be trying on. As far as such outfits go, this wasn't a bad choice, but I'm sure there is a better choice, somewhere.

I don't know that I've ever talk about the location these photos are taken at. It's the apple orchard in front of my house. It lays beside the ruins of our barn and right next to the corn fields. (Well, this year they're soy beans.) The trees that have taken root are the best climbing trees we have; and so much of my childhood can be brought back to that little bit of land. In the fall it smells like apples, as so much of the fruit has fallen to the ground. In the spring it's so beautiful when the blossoms peek out from the branches-like in this outfit post. It's places like these that anything can seem possible and almost like nothing could touch you. Forgive me, but I'm a romantic when it comes to my trees and the outdoor world that surrounds them.

Welcome to the Sixties

Outfit Details:
Jacket: TJ Maxx
Lace Vest: Forever21
Belt & Shoes: Kohl's
Necklace: Vintage
Rings: Vintage & Lead the Aweigh Ring-Modcloth

Something about this outfit brings me to the sixties, which then brings me to the song from Hairspray-"Welcome to the Sixties." That song is just one from the soundtrack that me and my best friend love to blare from my car, normally with the sunroof open and the windows down.

Shopping online is always tricky, things are often hard to digest online. Modcloth has, by far, one of the best online websites to shop at. Their review system is awesome-as you can see the other customers in their frock and get their opinion. This dress, I bought before it had gathered any reviews, so it was a complete gamble, but it really panned out. (Here, here, and here, are a few other ways I've worn it.) On this occasion I wanted something simple and comfy for walking around a local fair. It was also a warm day, so it needed to breathe, and this was a good candidate. I just pulled my hair into a faux-bob and took to the pavement. Some outfits just seem to stick with you more than others.
